2027 Scholarship Application

The Almalouf Foundation Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to deserving graduating high-school seniors from Westmoreland and Fayette Counties, Pennsylvania, who plan to pursue higher education at an eligible college, university, or nursing program.
Expected Awards

Approximately 10–15 scholarships of up to $10,000 each. Awards are competitive and are not guaranteed to every eligible applicant.

Application Period

January 1, 2027 through February 1, 2027. The Foundation may extend the deadline if necessary.

Scholarship Applicant Expectations

Applicants for this scholarship are expected to meet the following requirements:

Academic Achievement

 

Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

College Acceptance

 

Provide proof of acceptance into an accredited college or university.

Personal Essay

 

Submit a one-page essay answering the question, “What does success mean to you?” Applicants should use this essay to share their personal definition of success, goals, experiences, and how education will help them achieve those goals.

Community Contribution

 

Complete a minimum number of 20 community service or volunteer hours, with a brief reflection on the impact of their involvement.

Personal Investment

 

Ask applicants to explain what they have personally done to help fund or prepare for college, such as extra curricular school activities, working, saving, applying for other scholarships, completing FAFSA, attending college-preparation programs, or seeking mentorship.

Financial Need

 

Demonstrate a financial need for scholarship assistance to help support educational expenses.

●Applicants are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and provide their FAFSA Submission Summary, including their Student Aid Index (SAI).
●Financial need will be considered based on the applicant’s FAFSA information, family financial circumstances, cost of attendance, and other available financial aid. Applicants may be asked to provide additional documentation to verify their financial circumstances.

Financial-Aid Disclosure. I certify that I have disclosed all known scholarships, grants, financial aid, and other educational assistance received or offered as of this application. If additional assistance is received before my Almalouf Foundation scholarship is released, I will promptly notify the Foundation.

Authorization to Verify. If selected, I authorize the Almalouf Foundation, subject to applicable law and any additional authorization required, to verify information relevant to scholarship eligibility and award administration, including academic, admission, enrollment, and relevant financial-aid information. The Foundation may, but is not required to, contact my school, educational institution, reference, or another appropriate source.

Additional Documentation. I understand that the Foundation may request reasonable documentation, including final transcript, graduation confirmation, acceptance, proof of enrollment, updated financial-aid information, or documentation supporting information provided.

Scholarship Award. I understand that scholarships are competitive and submission does not guarantee an award. The Foundation expects approximately 10–15 awards of up to $10,000 each, but the number and amount may vary. Awards may be conditioned upon eligibility and enrollment verification.

Privacy. Information and documents will be used to evaluate and administer the scholarship and for related legal, accounting, compliance, and recordkeeping purposes. Separate permission will be sought before publicly using a recipient's name, photograph, school, program, biography, or other identifying information for publicity, except as otherwise permitted or required by law.
