Our Mission
The Almalouf Foundation is dedicated to helping deserving young people pursue higher education by removing financial barriers that may stand between them and their dreams.
We believe education can change the course of a person’s life. Education can open doors, create opportunities, and give a young person the ability to build a future they may never have imagined possible.
The Almalouf Foundation was created to give students who have demonstrated academic promise, determination, character, and financial need an opportunity to take that next step.
Our goal is simple: to invest in young people with potential and help make their educational dreams possible.
By supporting graduating high-school seniors from our local communities as they begin college or nursing education, we hope to do more than provide financial assistance. We hope to give students confidence, encouragement, and the knowledge that someone believes in their future.

Dr. Thaer Almalouf
Dr. Thaer Almalouf was born and raised in Aleppo, Syria, in a humble family with very limited resources. He came from nothing and had no advantages or resources to rely on other than his determination, hard work, and belief in the power of education. From an early age, he understood that education could open doors that circumstances alone could not. He eventually came to the United States and continued his journey, pursuing a career in medicine and dedicating more than three decades to caring for children and families.
Through hard work, perseverance, and determination, Dr. Almalouf built a successful career as a physician and entrepreneur, developing medical and behavioral-health practices and becoming deeply involved in the communities he serves. He considers his greatest achievement not simply what he has accomplished for himself, but the opportunity to give back and help others create possibilities for their own futures.
The Almalouf Foundation was born from that personal experience and a simple belief: education can change the course of a person’s life. Dr. Almalouf created the Foundation to help deserving young people overcome financial barriers to higher education and pursue opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach. His hope is that each scholarship will do more than provide financial assistance—it will give a student the confidence to believe in their potential and the opportunity to build a better future.
